Museum Beelden aan Zee (Sculptures by the sea museum)

The museum Sculptures by the Sea at Scheveningen is the only Dutch museum that deals exclusively with the sculptures and was founded in 1994 by Theo and Lida Scholten. The focus is on modern and contemporary international sculptures, particularly after World War II. The main hall showcases up to four different exhibitions per year. They are set thematically; by art movement or around the character of the artist.

The museum also provides space to a research institute for contemporary sculpture since 2003; the Sculpture Institute. This sculptural research institute is unique in the Netherlands. Admission is free via the main entrance of the museum.
